ÖKO-Line & Mono-Line
in comparison
For some years now, Ströbel has been offering the "Öko-Line" paper composite. It is free of aluminium, with a paper layer made from renewable raw materials and an aroma barrier. About 10 years ago, the ÖKO-Line was the first step towards a sustainable packaging line, as the mining of aluminium and its waste products are harmful to the environment. To this day, it is our bestseller, also because of its feel and look. Of course, we are always developing our packaging further. We are guided by the market, its needs, legal requirements such as the Packaging Act and the latest in research.
We have been offering the MONO-Line since 2022. An environmentally friendly alternative to previous packaging. It consists of a PE composite with an aroma barrier and is fully recyclable. After use, the end consumer can easily dispose of the new Ströbel MONO-Line bags in the plastic recycling bin. Regenerate can be obtained from the material recycling, which is used again in the plastic cycle. [(With the MONO-Line, the focus is on recycling the material. Not from what, but where to! In our opinion, it is much more sustainable that materials can be recycled after their first use than that e.g. food (such as sugar cane, corn) is used for packaging production. This is because plant-based materials are also energy-intensive to produce and usually end up in waste incineration after a single use. In addition, the cultivation of such materials results in monocultures and overfertilisation of the soil. The transport, mostly from overseas, increases the ecological footprint immensely.
